De hecho, todo pareciera indicar que So.cl no buscará presentarse como una red social per se, como es el caso de Google +, sino como una análoga o complementaria, al estilo de Pinterest e Instagram.
Microsoft apuntará a atraer a los mismos usuarios jóvenes que frecuentan Facebook con un plus adicional: muchos videos para compartir y chats grupales con el formato de videoconferencias.
Estas características son el punto fuerte de la malograda plataforma creada por Google el año pasado, que no logró imponerse -ni acercarse- a Facebook y que tiene un mínimo de actualizaciones (según la consultora RJMetrics, cuenta con 100 millones de registros, pero la réplica y redistribución de comentarios no llega al 1%).
Con So.cl, Microsoft vuelve a la carga en un espacio que no es su fuerte. A la popularidad de su sistema operativo, Windows, se contrapone el fracaso del buscador Bing, que le provoca pérdidas millonarias. Ahora intentará triunfar en un espacio en el que su principal competidor, Google, no parece afianzarse.
